Hearst Museum Policy Documents

The Museum publishes its controlling documents online to give visitors a better sense of the Museum’s operations and governance. These documents are reviewed annually for any necessary updates and revisions.

Collections Management Policy

The Hearst Museum’s Collections Management Policy details the scope of the Museum’s collections, describes how the Museum cares for and provides access to them, and defines roles in their ongoing management. Like all of the Museum’s controlling instruments, the Collections Management Policy is considered a living document, subject to regular review and revision.

Institutional Ethics Statement

The Hearst Museum’s Institutional Ethics Statement articulates the Museum’s core values and standards. Its principles apply to any individual or group whose actions or conduct are, or may be construed as, representative of the Hearst Museum.  Like all of the Museum’s controlling instruments, the Institutional Ethics Statement is considered a living document, subject to regular review and revision.
