Development Division

The Museum’s Development Division maintains communications with friends and supporters, and secures private gifts and grants to support the Museum’s mission. For general questions, contact PAHMA-Development@berkeley.edu.

Collections and Conservation Division

The Collections and Conservation Division is responsible for all aspects of care and preservation of the Museum’s collections and for facilitating access to them. For general questions, please contact PAHMA-Collections@berkeley.edu.

Cultural Policy Division

The Division coordinates the Museum’s response to international restitution requests, conducts due diligence for potential acquisitions, contributes to stakeholder outreach for programming, and serves as liaison to the Museum’s Native American Advisory Council.

Education and Interpretation Division

The Education and Interpretation Division oversees the use of the Museum for teaching and learning. This includes exhibit development and design, planning of tours, and making the Museum’s collections and exhibits accessible and engaging for audiences from the Berkeley community and beyond.

Registration Division

The Registration Division oversees and implements collections policies and procedures on acquisitions, deaccessions, loans, analytical sampling, insurance, and risk management, and coordinates research access and maintains the intellectual documentation and records related to the Museum’s collection. The Division supports professional education through museum studies internships on the Berkeley campus and in partnership with accredited graduate museum studies programs.

Research, Information, and Publications Division

The Research, Information, and Publications Division is responsible for managing and improving the Museum’s knowledge about its collections, providing the means to access and work with this information, facilitating research on the collections, and disseminating information about the Museum’s collections to its many audiences.
