Visiting the Museum

ADMISSION & TOURS

General Museum admission is FREE

Group Visits

Due to space and programming factors, groups of 20 or more are required to reserve a tour time to view the gallery.

Docent Tours

The Hearst offers docent led tours for both children and adult audiences. Docent tours are $2.00 per child under 18 and $5.00 for all adults 18 and over.

MUSEUM HOURS

Wednesday to Saturday 10:00am - 4:30pm
Sunday 12:00pm - 4:00pm

Closed on University Holidays

LOCATION

The Hearst Museum is located in Kroeber Hall on Bancroft Way at College Avenue on the campus of the University of California in Berkeley. The Museum entrance is through the Museum Store. See campus map.

TRANSPORTATION

AC Transit bus lines:
AC Transit serves the University with the following bus routes: #7,40,51,52,64.

Bay Area Rapid Transit Train (BART):
The museum is a 15-minute walk east of the Berkeley BART

PARKING

Metered parking is available on streets near the Museum. Paid public parking is available for a nominal fee at Berkeley Public Parking, 2420 Durant, west of Telegraph, and after 5:00 p.m. and on weekends at the corner of College and Durant Avenues and adjacent to the museum (under the tennis courts).

The Museum is wheelchair accessible
