From Garden to Gaiwan:
the Journey of Pu'er Tea
June 19, 2008, 6:00pm
For centuries, pu'er tea traveled out of Yunnan Province along the "Ancient Tea-Horse Road," part of the historical "Southwest Silk Road" connecting the tea-growing regions of Sichuan and Yunnan with Tibet, India, and Southeast Asia.
Brian S. Kirbis, a researcher who has spent the last two years examining the biological and cultural transformations taking place within Yunnan's tea industry, will be speaking on the material culture of tea production, followed by an authentic gongfu-style tea service, allowing participants the opportunity to experience and taste several different types of tea.

As space is limited, a reservation is required.
