Devil mask (máscara de diablo)
Nahua Indians; Ixcapaneca, Guerrero Collected by Donald B. Cordry, 1973 3-28575
The devil, a very common form in Mexican masking, appears in many guises and contexts. This mask was used in the Dance of the Tres Potencias (Three Powers), a morality play in which Christ, the Virgin Mary, and the Soul fight against the Devil, Sin, and Death.
