Figure of a litter bearer, carved wood

A sacrificial shrine offering, this figure raises his arm to support the carrying post of a litter. That he was a person of high rank in his own right is shown by his Wari-style hat and forehead ornament and his ear spools. The shell inlays that once covered his body represent birds in flight.
