Researcher Resources

Numerically, North American archaeology is the largest collection at the Phoebe Hearst Museum of Anthropology. Also the largest in western North America, it is dominated by prehistoric and historic collections from California and Nevada. Some of the accessions date to the turn of the century as a result of the founding research sponsored by Phoebe Hearst. While the object catalogue is not entirely online yet, the archaeological manuscripts (pdf) and some collections are accessible electronically. We will continually update this site, and welcome your comments.
