Photography for Personal Use
Photography within exhibit areas for personal use is permitted.
Photography for Research Use
Research photography of collections can be arranged under certain conditions.

Photography for Commercial Use
Professional photography or filming in Museum areas may be permitted for a fee, and by arrangement with a minimum of two weeks notice.

The Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology retains all reproduction rights for its photographic images, films, and sound recordings, unless they are already in the public domain.
Images of Museum objects are available for purchase, and limited permission to publish these images can be requested.
