Fees for Rights and Reproductions

The Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology retains all reproduction rights for its photographic images, films, and sound recordings, unless they are already in the public domain.Images of Museum objects are available for purchase from the Media Collections Manager, and limited permission to publish these images can be requested. The Museum reserves the right to restrict the use of reproduction of rare or sensitive materials and to refuse permission for inappropriate use.

Request for permission to publish, electronically transmit, or publicly display materials supplied by the museum from our archives must be made on a Permissions Request Form.

Permission is granted for one-time use only. Fees charged for reproduction/use are in addition to the cost of photographic production and duplication services. Please note that reproduction rights for images are not granted until the permission form has been countersigned by the Museum staff and returned to the requestor.

All permissions to reproduce are given with the understanding that the requestor sends one copy of the publication to the Museum's Media Collections Manager.
